Welcome to our shiny, new, bigmouthmedia blog! First, an apology; this blog is about as overdue as an iPhone app that makes you thin. Yes folks, we’re long overdue adding our mouthy opinions into the digital space, and after months of planning we’re all set to unleash our thoughts on digital industry news, stats and market trends, giving you the bigmouthmedia spin on what’s hot and what’s not. Up until now our corporate voice has been heard through our Industry News section on the bigmouthmedia site, and I’m pleased to say we will run this blog in parallel with the great content our newshounds churn out.
So far, 2011 is already proving to be about landmarks and evolution: technological innovation and consumer behaviour are evolving at breathtaking speed, and the global digital marketing industry is about to negotiate legislative and economic changes that will undoubtedly make a fundamental impact on the sector.
In the UK, we’re all focusing on the legislative change coming into play this week, when the Advertising Standards Authority expands the Committee of Advertising Practice to cover the digital sector. We will give you our opinion on the topic on this blog, as well as our thoughts on the global online privacy debate.
While regulation and legislation are important topics for 2011, this blog will also dive into other hot digital topics, such as social media, mobile growth, changing consumer expectations, analytical innovation and their importance for agencies and brands.
