Twestival over the Years: 10 favourite photos
Posted on 24. Mar, 2011 by Andrew Girdwood in Stats & Trends
Today, all around the world, the social and local charity event Twestival kicks off. Twitter users in cities across the globe will gather together to chat, chill and raise money for good causes. This blogger certainly intends on swapping cash for cupcakes – all in the name of charity, of course.
Countdown to Edinburgh Twestival 2011
At bigmouthmedia we love a good cause as much as we love Twitter. No wonder then that the Twestival, which ticks all the boxes, is possibly one of our favourite digital world events of the year, and as some of you may know we’ll be sponsoring the Edinburgh Twestival do again this year.
There are many reasons why we chose to do so, not least the enthusiasm of our tweetering bigmouths and the fact that all funds raised go to charity (this year EdTwestival is raising money for St Columba’s Hospice). You can read all about it in the Twestival blog. At the time of posting EdTwestival has 10% more attendees than London. That’s not due to our sponsorship but an interesting insight into locations like Edinburgh, Brighton and Exeter as hot beds of digital adoption alongside the nation’s capital.
The Edinburgh Twestival 2011 kicks off at 7pm tonight. Hawke & Hunter. Be there or be square. Oh, and if you’re in town and haven’t got your tickets yet, you can still buy them here.
10 of the best Twestival Photos
I turned to social media to find these photos. First stop Flickr and the ability to search for Creative Commons content. Since there’s a digital agency running this post we opted to tick the “commerical use” filter too.
