The bigmouthmedia Performance Marketing Team were delighted to attend this year’s A4U Awards which was hosted at the glamorous Grosvenor Hotel, London. With a nomination in the ‘Best Agency’ category we were all very hopeful and excited for the night ahead; more so for myself as it was my first industry awards ceremony!
The night began with a drink in the hotel Red bar where we met with the clients and affiliates we had invited along to share the evening with us. The night continued on with the Champagne reception where we all had our photo taken on the red carpet – allowing ourselves and our guests a moment in the limelight! Dinner followed in the awe inspiring venue which, amongst other aspects, is famous for hosting ceremonies such as the TV Bafta’s.

The host for the evening was comedian Rufus Hound who presented the awards ceremony. He took the opportunity to use the time to crack a few obligatory marketing jokes, mainly joking about the fact that those of us in marketing spend our day on Facebook and Twitter and such likes. All in all his performance was entertaining and added to the many highlights of the night.
Some of the evenings winners included InvisibleHand which took the recognitions for ‘Publisher Innovation’ and ‘Best 3rd Party Application’ thanks to their Price & Flight Comparison tool which won two awards. Joshna Patel from Red Letter Days walked away with the much coveted ‘Hot Shot Rising Star’ award while Affiliate Window took the gong for the ‘Publisher’s Choice of Network’ award. Unfortunately, it wasn’t our night for the ‘Best Agency’ award, although we were Highly Commended which in itself was an achievement we were all very proud of.

The night was a success finishing off with a jazz band and disco providing the team and myself with a great opportunity to network with our industry peers. With over 700 guests from the Performance Marketing Industry in attendance it was impossible to meet everyone, however, it was a great start.
As this was my first event, I can honestly say it was truly a fabulous night. Bring on next year!
