Hiding in the stylish environment of the Blythswood Square Hotel in Glasgow’s city centre, on the 22nd September will be the LBi/bigmouthmedia Social Media Week 2011 event. A combination of drink, nibbles and social media enthusiasts promises to deliver an informative, insightful evening, with some fun to boot!
We will be discussing ‘What’s next… in blogging’ including:
- Paid vs. Unpaid blogging – What type of incentives are acceptable?
- How should brands and blogs work together?
- Are microblogging platforms killing blogging?
Our guest speaker for the night is Andrew McCormick , deputy editor of Marketing magazine and editor of Revolution magazine. Andrew will provide an opening keynote on his thoughts and insight on the latest trends in social media, including the discussion topics detailed above.
Along with refreshments, there will be team competitions, an opportunity to discuss the highlights of Social Media Week Glasgow and mingle with your industry peers. We aim to bring out your competitive side and test your enthusiasm through a competition, with the promise of a prize for every member of the winning team. We also have another competition in the pipeline, however, we are keeping it a closely guarded secret until the event! All we can say for now is it involves QR code cupcake. Hashtags for the event are #SMWbmm for the LBi/bigmouthmedia event and #SMWGla for the overall week.
The event starts at 6:30pm, with drinks and Andrew’s introduction. To register for the event simply visit the Social Media Week event page.
We look forward to seeing you there!
