The Pleasure Principle

“Taking pleasure in the job, will put perfection in the work” (Aristotle, 320BC)
Starting a digital marketing blog with a quote from a Greek philosopher may seem like the actions of a big headed semi-professional with delusions of grandeur, but in the context of what I am going to be talking about, it is a perfect fit.
Last night, LBi bigmouthmedia held a careers fair, which aimed to entice some of the best talent in the digital sphere into our fold. Our adequate workspace was packed to the rafters with eager minds, ready to find out the inner workings of our rapidly growing operation.
The soft benefits of attending, from beer and pizza to QR code cupcakes and free stationary, were guzzled, munched and pocketed prior to the main event.
Our evening kicked off with an introduction from our COO Phil Gripton, the attendees were taken through five mini sessions delivering the lay of the land for SEO, Social Media, Blogger Outreach, Media Architecture and our Cross Digital proposition. These sessions aimed to focus the individual’s knowledge and understanding of the varied disciplines that our technology and media agency specialise in and ensured that we had the right people applying for the right jobs.
Having just celebrated my two year anniversary with the company, a matter of days prior to this event, I was in the perfect position to wax lyrical about the benefits of working for such a dynamic, forward-thinking and creative workplace. Each of the sessions that we ran last night, tried to convey the spirit of the business and the passion of our varied workforce, and so… (here comes the link back to the Aristotle quote! )
At LBi bigmouthmedia, we have a passion for our work and our workplace, that can’t help but ensure exceptional quality in everything we deliver. If our hearts weren’t in it, we wouldn’t be growing at the rate we are and thirty staff wouldn’t give up an evening to tell everyone, why we take pleasure in what we do and why we are always striving for perfection.
